Bio:Born in Arizona where I attended Arizona State University and received a BFA in Directing for the Theatre. I then attended the Yale School of Drama from 1979 to 1983 eventually receiving my Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. I kicked around New York City and Aspen for a while working with various Theatres and Repertory Companies before I decided to settle down in Los Angeles in 1990. I've been living and working here for 14 years. During that time I've worked on several TV shows (notably LA Law, ER, Babylon 5, Briscoe County, Perry Mason, Qauntum Leap, The Flash and several others. I've also appeared in the feature films Extreme Justice and Army of Darkness among others. For the last several years I've worked with the avant-garde Theatre Company City Garage in Santa Monica,CA (http://www.citygarage.org) where I played many excellent roles including the lead in a world premiere of Ionesco's "Journeys Among the Dead". Right now I'm editing a documentary I shot several years ago on a vintage paperback show that went on for years up in Portland, OR. I hope to finish it this fall.

I work (when I'm not acting) at a great bookstore called the "Iliad Bookshop" (http://www.iliadbooks.com) where I frequently hold forth on the evils of method acting along with helping people find the book they are looking for. I'm an avid reader and great fan of Hong Kong Cinema. My partner (for lack of a better word), Lisa Morton (http://www.lisamorton.com) is a professional writer and all around genius, so I'm never short of interesting things to do and talk about. We have four very individual cats whom we love with abandon. We both hope at some point to buy a house so we can put all of our books, movies, collectables and, of course, cats into. Lisa has published two books along with many horror short stories. She was the first to publish (in English) a critical study of the hugely talented Hong Kong director Tsui Hark (prounounced "choi hawk", not "tsuee hark" goddamnit!) and an informative (and funny) encyclopedia of Halloween. She is an amazing person and I feel honored to be her partner.

I just turned 50 this last March and finally got the alchoholism bug off my back. Sober for about a year and a half now. My health and attitude (not to mention memory) have improved dramatically. Now I'm trying to get back in shape. My personal outlook is positive (but slightly guarded, I'm a cynic, you know). As long as I don't get blown up, I think I've got some great years ahead of me. I hope to get back into film acting again (trying to get that house). Time will tell.
